About this position

Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) / IGNITE@GIST InnoCORE is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in microfluidics, microparticle manipulation, blood separation, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and topology optimization.

The position is hosted by the IGNITE@GIST InnoCORE research group at GIST in Gwangju, South Korea, with mentorship by Prof. Sung Yang. The work focuses on microfluidics-based research and related fields, including microfluidic device design/fabrication, blood/cell separation, CFD analysis, and topology/shape optimization.

Eligibility: applicants should have received a Ph.D. within the last 5 years, or be expected to receive the Ph.D. in August 2026. Candidates with more than 5 years since the Ph.D. may still be considered if exceptionally qualified. A research record and publications in the relevant areas are expected.

Funding: the salary is KRW 90 million per year gross, including taxes and employer statutory contributions. The appointment is a direct employment contract with GIST, and the role may include business trips and collaborative secondments (overseas secondment limited to 3 months).
