Postdoctoral Researcher in Multiphysics Modelling of High-Temperature Superconductor Quench Protection at the University of Turku (Department of Physics and Astronomy, Wihuri Physical Laboratory).

The role involves developing, implementing, validating, and documenting FEM models; simulating current diverters; analysing uncertainty and limitations; and translating results into experimentally testable design recommendations. The post also includes close collaboration with experimental researchers and international partners, including Quanscient Oy.

Eligibility highlights: a completed doctoral degree by the end of the application period in physics, engineering, computational materials science, or a related field; strong knowledge of FEM and multiphysics simulation; experience with superconducting systems or coupled thermal-electromagnetic problems; strong scientific writing and analytical skills; and fluent English. Additional experience with Quanscient Allsolve, quench protection, HTS tapes/coils, programming, data analysis, surrogate models, or experimental validation is an advantage.
