About this position
Postdoctoral researcher position in physical chemistry / nanotechnology at the University of Liège (ULiège), within the NANOCHEM group, Department of Chemistry and UR MolSys.
The successful candidate will join the group of Prof. Anne-Sophie Duwez in the ERC Advanced Grant project ChemForce (Horizon Europe), focused on single-molecule force spectroscopy (SMFS). The research environment combines chemists and physicists working on AFM-based SMFS and optical tweezers-based SMFS, with access to in-house experimental facilities and international collaborations.
The project is centered on the mechano-chemical properties of functional molecules and molecular machines, making it a strong fit for candidates interested in physical chemistry, nanotechnology, and advanced instrumental techniques. The position is full-time and temporary, with a start date between 1 November and 1 January.
Eligibility highlights include a PhD in chemistry, physics, engineering, or a related equivalent field, excellent English, strong teamwork and independent problem-solving skills, and international mobility requirements. Candidates should have no more than 6 years of post-PhD experience and no more than 2 years in Belgium at the start of the contract.
To apply, candidates must email a CV, letter of motivation, names and email addresses of two senior referees, and a summary of PhD research accomplishments to Prof. Anne-Sophie Duwez at [email protected]. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Deadline: 1 November 2026.
