About this position
The University of Luxembourg is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Quantum Networking to join the Signal Processing and Communications (SigCom) research group at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT). Research areas include quantum communications, quantum information networks, software-defined networking (SDN), network function virtualization (NFV), and the integration of classical and quantum networks. The successful candidate will play a leading role in developing Key Management System (KMS) software for orchestrating Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) networks and implementing SDN-based frameworks to enable the quantum internet. Responsibilities include developing quantum communication protocols, designing quantum network architectures, building SDN-enabled orchestration software, and supporting PhD candidates in their research. The position is highly collaborative, involving work with academic and industry partners across several European and international projects. Applicants should have a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Quantum Technologies, with expertise in SDN, software engineering, and quantum communication technologies. Strong coding skills in languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, Go, or Rust are required, along with experience in orchestration tools for complex networks. English fluency is mandatory. The position offers a fixed-term contract of 24 months, with a yearly gross salary of EUR 85,176, and access to state-of-the-art facilities and labs.
