About this position

University of Oxford is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scientist to join the Lang group within the Oxford-GSK Institute for Molecular & Computational Medicine (IMCM), based at the Nuffield Department of Medicine and working in collaboration with Nuffield Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, and DPAG.

This is a research-focused opportunity in molecular neurodegeneration, with emphasis on neuroscience, biology, genetics/genomics, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, and related areas. The lab’s work spans genetics, genomics, molecular and single-cell biology, spatial imaging, machine learning, and novel data-handling methods to study disease patterns in new ways.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a PhD/DPhil or be close to completion in Neuroscience, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Genetics/Genomics, or a related field. The post also asks for experience and knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s, plus extensive hands-on experience differentiating human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) into neurons.

Funding and terms: full-time postdoctoral appointment on Research Grade 7 with salary £39,424–£43,984 per annum, including Oxford University weighting. This is a paid employment role rather than a scholarship.

Application window: closing date is 12PM (midday), 11 August 2026.

How to apply: submit a CV and supporting statement outlining how you meet the selection criteria. Use the University of Oxford application portal linked in the post.
