About this position

Queen Mary University of London is advertising an informal expression of interest for a postdoctoral position in ion channel electrophysiology at the Blizard Institute.

The project is centered on the structure, function, and regulation of neuronal voltage-gated calcium channels. The successful candidate will work in Ivan Kadurin’s lab and will contribute to research on mechanisms of pathological pain, with collaborations involving the groups of Rajesh Khanna and Alex Clark. These collaborations provide access to complementary in vivo models and patient-derived iPSC sensory neurons.

The post is especially suitable for researchers with experience in electrophysiology and/or functional imaging, ideally with primary neuronal cultures or iPSC-derived neurons. The lab also offers opportunities to broaden skills in molecular and cellular biology, protein biochemistry, and computational structural approaches.

The position is funded for up to three years through a recently awarded MRC grant and is expected to start no later than November 2026. This is not yet a formal advertised call, but the post invites informal contact from potential candidates.

To express interest, email [email protected] and review the lab website for more information about the research group.
