About this position

Two full-time openings are available at the Infant Brain & Behavior Lab at NYU Langone, led by Dr. Courtney Filippi. The post includes a Research Assistant opportunity and a Postdoctoral Fellow position focused on developmental neuroscience, infant brain development, neuroimaging, MRI, EEG, and infant/toddler research.

The Research Assistant roles (2 positions) center on early neural correlates of anxiety risk using MRI and EEG in infants and toddlers. Responsibilities include recruitment, behavioral data collection, fMRI and EEG data collection, team supervision, and training in EEG/MRI data quality control. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, or a related field, along with strong organizational, interpersonal, and attention-to-detail skills. A flexible schedule is required, including evenings and weekends. A 2-year commitment starting Fall 2026 is expected, and prior child research or EEG experience is a plus.

The Postdoctoral Fellow position focuses on infant resting-state fMRI analysis for the ENIGMA ORIGINS and HBCD projects. Applicants should have experience with infants/toddlers, MRI analysis, or big data, plus strong programming skills in Matlab, R, Python, and Linux, and statistical modeling experience. The role also values motivation to publish and mentor trainees. The post states a salary of $70,000–$75,000 per year plus benefits for a 2-year term starting Fall 2026.

Application instructions differ by role: Research Assistant candidates should complete the linked form and upload a CV. Postdoctoral Fellow candidates should email a cover letter with two references and a CV to [email protected]. Applicants attending ICIS or FIT’NG conferences in July 2026 are encouraged to reach out in advance.
