About this position

Technische Universität Dresden is advertising a full-time Research Associate / PostDoc (m/f/x) position at the Chair of Inorganic Chemistry I, Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry. The appointment starts on 1 January 2027 and is limited until 29 February 2028. The post is classified at salary group E 13 TV-L, subject to personal qualification and available resources.

The project focuses on developing a novel generation of computing architectures based on ion computing. The successful candidate will work on switchable ultracapacitors and microsupercapacitors for iontronic applications, synthesis of porous carbon materials and porous membranes, development and adaptation of electrolyte formulations, and electrochemical characterization. Core methods include impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The role also involves integration into a team of PhD and master’s students, scientific publishing, and data management.

The position is well suited to researchers with a strong background in chemistry or materials science and experience in electrochemistry, ultracapacitors, and materials characterization of porous systems. Applicants should be able to contribute in an international research environment and support collaborative team work.

Eligibility highlights include a very good university degree and PhD in chemistry or materials science, practical experience in electrochemistry, broad knowledge of materials characterization methods, good English, and strong organizational and PC skills. The vacancy especially encourages applications from women and from candidates with disabilities.

Applications must be submitted by 26 October 2026. Preferred submission is through the TUD SecureMail Portal as a single PDF sent to [email protected]. A postal submission to the Chair of Inorganic Chemistry I in Dresden is also indicated. The vacancy and privacy information are available on the TU Dresden website.
