About this position

Research Engineer in Biomaterials for Biomimetic Vascular Grafts at Sorbonne Université (Laboratoire de Chimie de la Matière Condensée de Paris, LCMCP), in collaboration with CNRS and SATT LUTECH.

This opening is for a PhD holder in biomaterials or a related discipline who wants to work on the MIMETUBE project, focused on developing new biomimetic tubular materials for vascular applications. The role sits at the intersection of biomaterials, tissue engineering, materials characterization, polymer chemistry, and translational research.

The engineer will optimize fabrication processes, develop a new experimental setup for scaling materials, analyze freezing-process parameters and their impact on structure and mechanics, perform mechanical characterization, and carry out SEM and fluorescence/confocal/epifluorescence microscopy. The position also includes protocol development with surgeons and an industrial partner, documentation, sample management, and stock/order management.

Required profile highlights include strong knowledge of polymer physical chemistry in aqueous media, mechanical characterization, cell biology, and English at B1 level or higher. Experience with instrumental setups, biological sample preparation for microscopy, wet-lab equipment, health and safety, multitasking, and scientific communication is valued. Interdisciplinary teamwork and autonomy are important.

The contract is 12 months, possibly renewable, with compensation starting from 2681 euros/month gross plus transport benefits. The expected start date is September 2026.

To apply, send a full CV and motivation letter by email to Francisco M. Fernandes and Léa Trichet. The post states that applications and inquiries are handled exclusively by email using the addresses provided in the document.
