About this position

PhD-level technical support position in biology at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology PAS, Warsaw, Poland. The advertised role is a full-time-equivalent 0.6 employment contract in the research group led by Prof. Agnieszka Dobrzyń, within the PACMAN project: Personalized antibody-drug conjugates activated by matrix metalloproteinases for solid tumors. The project is managed within the Virtual Research Institute (WIB) and focuses on developing a novel class of antibody-drug conjugates activated by biomolecules abundant in the solid tumour microenvironment.

Research tasks include analysis and testing of ADC-type anticancer biomolecules under in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo conditions, with a view toward personalized treatment of pancreatic cancer. The work is highly experimental and spans molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, histology, microscopy, tissue handling, animal work, and related analytical methods.

Eligibility highlights: applicants must hold a master’s degree in biological sciences or a related field and have documented hands-on experience with laboratory methods such as DNA/RNA isolation, RT-PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, protein extraction and analysis, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA, light/fluorescence/confocal microscopy, mammalian and human cell culture (including primary cells, stem cells, and co-cultures), karyotyping, viability/proliferation assays, immunocytochemistry, fluorescent staining, tissue banking, and working with laboratory mice. Experience with organoids, flow cytometry, and biostatistics is considered an asset. The candidate must also agree to non-competition rules under the WIB Program guidelines.

Funding and employment: the position offers 12 months of employment initially, with the possibility of a 32-month extension after positive performance evaluation, for a total of 44 months.
