Institut Imagine

Postdoctoral Researcher in Precision Medicine, Single-Cell Genomics and Immunology for Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

Postdoctoral Researcher in Precision Medicine for Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis at Institut Imagine , INSERM , Université Paris Cité in Paris, France. The SCInflaNet lab is recruiting a postdoc to lead the SMART-JIA project at the intersection of single-cell genomics , functional immunology , and AI-driven precision medicine . The project focuses on why anti-TNF therapy fails in some children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and how treatment failure might be predicted before therapy starts. The research builds on scRNA-seq findings from PBMCs of JIA patients and aims to validate transcriptomic signatures as a predictive SMART-Score, dissect mechanisms of anti-TNF resistance, and cross-validate findings in biologic-naïve adult rheumatoid arthritis patients. The work includes single-cell multi-omics (10x Multiome, scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq), ex vivo functional assays, biomarker validation, and algorithm development, with close collaboration with clinicians at Necker and Cochin Hospitals. Eligibility highlights include a PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field , experience with flow cytometry/cell sorting , functional immunology , primary human immune cells from clinical cohorts, and familiarity with single-cell omics (10x Genomics). A background in autoimmunity, R/Python, and a strong publication record are advantageous. The position starts in 2026 (ASAP) and is offered for 2 years, renewable , with a competitive salary , mentoring, career development, and access to clinical cohorts, biobanks, and world-class platforms at Single-Cell@Imagine. To apply, send a single PDF by email to [email protected] including a cover letter, CV with publications, a 1-page research summary, and 2–3 referee contacts. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until filled .

Institut Imagine

Postdoctoral Researcher in HIV-1 Innate Sensing, Lipid Metabolism and Dendritic Cell Biology

Institut Imagine / INSERM / Université Paris Cité is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher for a project at the intersection of HIV-1 , innate immunity , lipid metabolism , and dendritic cell biology . The position is based in Paris, France, within the Single-Cell Inflammatory Responses & Multi-OMICs Networks (SCInflaNet) lab at Institut Imagine (Necker Hospital campus). The project builds on recent findings linking HIV-1 infection, lipid metabolic pathways, and type I interferon production in human dendritic cells. The successful candidate will investigate how lipid metabolism regulates HIV-1 sensing and antiviral immunity. Research tasks include characterizing HIV-1-induced changes in lipid metabolism in human dendritic cells, testing how lipid pathways affect viral replication and interferon responses, and using lipidomics , scRNA-seq , scATAC-seq , and computational/systems biology approaches. Eligibility highlights include a PhD in Immunology, Virology, Cell Biology, or a related field , experience with primary human immune cells (DCs, macrophages, PBMCs), and practical skills in flow cytometry, qPCR, Western blot, and CRISPR. A strong publication record and excellent English are expected. Experience with HIV/retrovirology, BSL-3 work, lipidomics, single-cell omics, and programming/analysis tools such as R, Python, Seurat, and Scanpy is a plus. The appointment is for 2 years, renewable , with a competitive salary . The lab offers access to advanced platforms and a vibrant international environment, including single-cell genomics, flow cytometry, imaging, bioinformatics, BSL-3 facilities, mentoring, career development, conference support, and grant-writing training. To apply, send a single PDF to [email protected] with a cover letter, CV with publication list, research summary, and contact information for 2–3 referees.
