About this position

The Spärck AI Scholarships are a new, fully funded UK government initiative supporting Master’s degrees in artificial intelligence and related STEM fields at nine of the UK’s leading universities, including the University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Imperial College London, University College London, University of Edinburgh, University of Manchester, University of Bristol, Newcastle University, and University of Southampton. This prestigious programme is designed for exceptional students—both domestic and international—who have outstanding academic records and demonstrate leadership potential and innovation in AI.

Scholars will receive full tuition coverage and a living stipend, with the added benefit of priority access to industry placements at top UK AI companies such as Darktrace, Quantexa, PolyAI, Faculty, and others, as well as mentorship and networking opportunities across the UK AI ecosystem. The programme is backed by £17.6 million in government funding and aims to support at least 100 talented students for the 2026–27 academic year.

Applicants should have a strong background in artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, or related STEM disciplines. The scholarships are open to both UK and international students who can demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a passion for innovation in AI. The application window opens in Spring 2026, with the first cohort starting in October 2026. This initiative is part of the UK’s broader strategy to foster AI talent and innovation, providing direct routes into the UK’s tech sector through industry partnerships and work placements.

For more information and updates, prospective applicants should monitor the official Spärck AI Scholarships page and the participating universities’ websites. This is a unique opportunity to join a world-class AI community and gain unparalleled access to academic and industry leaders in the field.
