The doctoral candidate will work on a hybrid AI / decision-support architecture that integrates heterogeneous data sources such as IoT sensors, SCADA systems, hydraulic models, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) data, and other operational datasets. The role includes designing the overall IDSS architecture, developing data acquisition and integration layers, building reasoning and explainability components, and contributing to reporting, visualization, and real-world validation across water-industry case studies.

Eligibility: Master’s degree required. Strong preparation in machine learning, data mining, data-driven models, knowledge-based systems, XAI, multi-agent systems, and programming (Python, R, Java or similar) is expected. English at C1 level is required; Spanish or Catalan are considered an advantage.

Funding / contract: Fixed-term full-time research training contract (37.5 h/week). The post is presented as a scholarship/assistantship-style doctoral position; no stipend amount is stated in the post.
