University of Wollongong PhD Scholarship

PhD scholarship opportunity at the University of Wollongong’s Institute for Superconducting and Electronic Materials (ISEM) and Australian Institute for Innovative Materials (AIIM).

This project focuses on advanced solid-state battery materials and energy storage innovation, with a strong emphasis on next-generation batteries for extreme cold conditions. Research themes include solid-state batteries, operando characterisation, neutron/synchrotron techniques, advanced characterisation platforms, electrochemistry, materials science, and cryogenic energy technologies.

The scholarship is fully funded and includes a stipend, tuition coverage, and a top-up. The broader UOW scholarship page lists a stipend of $38,420 per annum, a possible $10,000 top-up after interview, and a duration of 3.5 years.
