About this position
Georgia Institute of Technology is accepting applications for the Advanced Rehabilitation Research Training (ARRT): Inclusive Technology and Policy Design Research Postdoctoral Fellows Program.
The fellowship supports postdoctoral researchers working on accessibility, usability, disability-related policy, rehabilitation research, assistive technology, inclusive technology, or regulatory issues. Fellows receive didactic training and mentorship, conduct independent and collaborative research, and participate in research practicums connected to NIDILRR priorities.
Responsibilities include 3–5 hours per week of policy-research training and mentorship, 8–16 hours per week developing an independent research project leading to substantial publications or comparable outputs, and 10–12 hours per week contributing to other NIDILRR-funded projects at Georgia Tech.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D., Psy.D., J.D., or equivalent terminal degree in rehabilitation engineering, a related science or engineering discipline, public policy, or a related social-science field focused on disability, assistive technology, or rehabilitation science. Experience with qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods research is expected, as are strong independent-working, collaboration, project-management, and teamwork skills. Interest or experience in public policy and regulation affecting mainstream and assistive technologies is desirable. Campus residency in Atlanta is highly preferred, and applicants must be U.S. citizens. Near-completion Ph.D. candidates may be considered in exceptional cases.
The salary is $5,833 USD per month plus benefits. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis beginning November 13, 2026, with a prospective start date of December 1, 2026, and remain open until the positions are filled.
