Michigan State University is inviting applications for a tenure-system Assistant Professor position in the Department of Advertising and Public Relations in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field, or be ABD with a clear path to completion by the start date. The post also highlights the importance of strong qualitative and/or quantitative methods, an active empirical research agenda, potential for external funding, and the ability to teach core and elective courses in advertising. Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students is also expected.

Desired strengths include a national or international academic reputation, industry-related experience, entrepreneurship, interdisciplinary collaboration, and outreach/engagement. The department notes existing expertise in areas such as AI and emerging communication technologies, digital media and creator culture, consumer insights and privacy, ethics and CSR, health communication, political communication, race and identity, science communication, and persuasion processes.
