About this position
At the Institut für Röntgenphysik at the University of Göttingen, two PhD positions are available in biophysics with a strong focus on 3D biomedical imaging by X-ray phase contrast tomography.
The project explores the use of partially coherent X-ray radiation at both synchrotron and laboratory μCT sources. Depending on the successful candidate’s background and interests, the work may centre on one or more of the following areas:
- algorithmic design and phase retrieval
- X-ray optical physics
- sample preparation
- instrumentation
- application benchmarks in collaboration with medical partners
The position is part of a collaborative research environment in which the exact project scope is shaped by the candidate’s profile, aptitude, and the needs of ongoing collaborative projects and third-party funding sources. The advert indicates an interdisciplinary setting linking X-ray physics, biomedical imaging, and medically oriented applications.
The position is associated with Tim Salditt at Göttingen.
