About this position
This postdoctoral position is based at the Institut de Biologie Intégrative de la Cellule (I2BC), part of the CNRS-CEA-Université Paris-Saclay research environment in Gif-sur-Yvette. The project sits in the team “Biochimie des Métalloprotéines et Maladies Associées” and focuses on a fundamental question at the interface of metabolism and protein biochemistry.
The research aims to elucidate how fatty acid synthesis is mechanistically connected to iron-sulfur (Fe-S) cluster biogenesis in prokaryotes. Building on recent laboratory findings, the project will investigate a direct interaction between ACP and the ISC machinery and seek to define the biochemical basis of this regulation. The work combines in vitro reconstitution of the prokaryotic ISC system with approaches designed to probe kinetics, protein-protein interactions, and structural changes.
The successful candidate will work on protein purification, reconstitution of multi-protein complexes under anaerobic conditions, sample preparation, and analysis using a broad set of biochemical and biophysical tools. These include UV-visible spectroscopy, circular dichroism, isothermal titration calorimetry, biolayer interferometry, FIDA technology, mass spectrometry, and NMR. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a mechanistic project in a highly interdisciplinary biochemical and biophysical setting.
The postdoctoral researcher will join a large institute bringing together researchers in biology, biochemistry, and biophysics on the CNRS campus at Gif-sur-Yvette.
