Ohio University is offering two fully-funded PhD positions starting Fall 2026 in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). The positions are supervised by Dr. Ziyang Song, who will join as Assistant Professor in Fall 2025.

Research areas include AI for Health, Trustworthy Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and Statistical Machine Learning, with a focus on high-impact, inclusive, and collaborative research. Applicants should hold or be enrolled in a BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field, and have relevant research experience, ideally with at least one first- or co-first-authored publication.

Experience applying computational methods to biomedical problems is a plus. The positions are fully funded, covering tuition and providing a stipend.
