The Cyber-Secure and Smart Energy Systems (CSSE) group at Kansas State University is recruiting fully funded PhD students for Fall 2026. Led by Associate Professor Hongyu Wu, the group focuses on cutting-edge research in smart grid cyber-physical security, artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in power systems, stochastic optimization, and power system energy management. Students will benefit from a collaborative research environment, state-of-the-art facilities, and strong connections with industry, national labs, and federal agencies.

Applicants should have a strong background in electrical engineering, computer science, or related fields, and be highly motivated to pursue research in these areas.
