Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Dental Assistant II at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine's faculty practice, Rutgers Health University Dental Associates.
The Dental Assistant II provides support to faculty at RHUDA–New Brunswick. Along with these duties, the Dental Assistant II performs tasks related to the care, sterilization, packing, and disbursement of equipment and supplies. The role also involves maintaining sterilization procedures for dental instruments and supplies associated with patient care across various clinical operations. Additionally, the Dental Assistant II provides chairside assistance to providers in all disciplines and takes dental x-rays as assigned.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Reviews-providers schedule and set up treatment rooms for procedure being performed.
- Assists various faculty chairside in the delivery of outstanding quality care.
- Checks returned instruments and prepares them for sterilization.
- Exposes and scans digital radiographs using digital sensor or phosphor plate.
- Checks for past due patient visits. Aids front desk are with scheduling patient visits.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Valid Radiologic Technology license issued by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection.
- Valid American Heart Association CPR certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- Sitting/standing for prolonged periods, frequently walking, bending and reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive) .
- Must have the ability to lift/push/pull greater than 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
- Noisy, busy clinical, and sterilization area, temperature fluctuations (hot and cold).
