About this position
The Extremity Trauma and Amputation Center of Excellence (EACE) is offering a postdoctoral fellowship at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
Hosted within the EACE Regenerative Biosciences Laboratory in the Department of Surgery, the project focuses on developing and evaluating next-generation technologies and approaches for the treatment of combat-related orthopaedic trauma. The research environment combines contemporary cell and molecular biology methods with clinically relevant small- and large-animal models to generate knowledge that can support translation of promising technologies into clinical practice.
As an ORISE participant, the fellow will work under mentor guidance on ongoing collaborative pre-clinical research projects. The role includes data collection within existing protocols, processing and interpretation of collected data, descriptive and inferential statistical analysis, and preparation of abstracts and manuscripts for scientific dissemination.
The EACE research program is embedded across multiple Military Treatment Facilities and is centered on mitigating, treating, and rehabilitating traumatic extremity injuries and amputations with an emphasis on clinical translation to improve care for injured Service Members and Veterans.
