About this position

University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking an Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) for an NCInnovation-funded commercialization project focused on an AI-enabled DC Solid-State Circuit Breaker for next-generation AI data centers.

The technology has been recognized as one of UNC Charlotte’s Inventions of the Year and is supported by multiple patents, industry partnerships, and a commercialization grant. The EIR will work closely with the research team, industry partners, and NCInnovation to help bring the technology to market over the next 18–24 months.

This is a paid, part-time role. The post is looking for a business or commercialization leader with experience in data centers, power electronics, electrical infrastructure, or protection technologies.

This is not a PhD, postdoc, or master’s opening; it is an industry-facing entrepreneurial/commercialization opportunity. Interested candidates are invited to reach out directly.
