About this position

ESSEC Business School is inviting applications for a full-time faculty position in Information Systems starting in September 2027 at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The position is based in the ESSEC IS Group within the Department of Information Systems, Data Analytics and Operations, on the Cergy campus near Paris, France.

The role is research- and teaching-oriented, with interests in Information Systems, Digital Business, Innovation, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, IS Change, IS Design, Implementation, and Use, Data Governance & Analytics, IS Theory, and Research Methods. The school also highlights interest in profiles with expertise in AI and Data, Digital Entrepreneurship, and IS Sustainability/Responsibility.

Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent in Information Systems or a related area. For the Assistant Professor level, candidates should have some publication record in leading IS journals or a strong pipeline of papers aimed at such journals. For the Associate Professor level, candidates should have an established record of excellence in research and teaching. ESSEC notes that English and French are the teaching/business languages, but prior French knowledge is not required and international faculty are not required to teach in French.

The position is a full-time faculty appointment; salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. No scholarship or studentship funding is mentioned, as this is a faculty hiring call rather than a student opening.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and candidates are encouraged to submit materials for full consideration by 2026-10-15. Required documents include a cover letter, CV with full publication list, research statement, teaching statement, teaching evaluations if available, referee contacts, and a job market paper (plus two optional additional papers).

To apply, use the Google Forms link provided in the post and follow the department’s instructions. For questions, the post directs prospective candidates to Prof. Harris Kyriakou at [email protected].

Funding details

Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.

How to apply

Please submit your application including a cover letter, CV, academic transcripts, and contact information for two references. Applications should be sent via the online portal before the deadline.
