Full-Time Postdoctoral Assistant Position with Center for Biosystems and Biotech Data Science Ghent University Global Campus in South Korea

Ghent University Global Campus in Incheon, South Korea is advertising a full-time postdoctoral position in the Center for Biosystems and Biotech Data Science. The role sits within an interdisciplinary research environment focused on mathematical and computational approaches for understanding biosystems and biotech data. The center’s work includes biochemical reaction networks, ecological and epidemiological systems, parameter estimation, model reduction, stability analysis, and the modelling of metapopulation, ecological competition, and compartmental infection networks.

The appointed postdoc will work in the area of mathematical biology, with particular emphasis on control of ecological networks via metapopulation design. The project specifically mentions dynamics of Lotka-Volterra systems and metapopulation networks. In addition to conducting research, the successful candidate will assist the supervisor with ongoing and future R&D projects, present results at conferences, and publish in peer-reviewed international journals.

The position is a 2-year full-time postdoc under the supervision of Prof. Shodhan Rao at Ghent University Global Campus. The post includes an annual base salary of 47,789,764 KRW gross, equivalent to a monthly gross salary of 3,982,480 KRW. Benefits include two additional bonuses each year, free housing within the campus for candidates without Korean nationality, severance pay after more than one year of service, and 35 days of paid annual leave per year plus holidays.

A strong mathematical background, rigorous undergraduate training, and an excellent academic record are expected. Strong English ability and good academic writing and presentation skills are required. Undergraduate knowledge of biology or chemistry is preferred but not mandatory.
