Middle Tennessee State University is advertising a fully funded PhD opening for Fall 2026 in the Computational Science PhD Program. The position is supervised by Mohammad Arif Hossain, Assistant Professor at MTSU, and is aimed at one highly motivated student.

The research areas include Agentic AI for Autonomous Systems (UAVs/Robotics), Agentic AI Security, and Quantum Networks. The project emphasis is on intelligent, secure, and scalable next-generation systems for AI-native networking, autonomous cyber-physical systems, distributed intelligence, and secure machine learning.

Preferred preparation includes a background in machine learning, cybersecurity, wireless networking, robotics, distributed systems, quantum computing, or related areas. Strong programming and research skills are encouraged, and applicants with an MS degree are preferred.
