HydroTerra Lab at the University of Prince Edward Island is advertising a fully funded PhD opportunity led by Dr. Sara Sadri, Canada Research Chair in Remote Sensing and Water Security and Associate Professor. The project sits at the intersection of computer science, artificial intelligence, software development, data science, and food security, with a strong emphasis on building digital technologies and analytical tools for real-world societal and environmental challenges.

The ideal applicant should hold an MSc in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field. Strong Python programming and modern software development skills are expected, along with experience in machine learning, databases, cloud computing, web technologies, or data analytics. The post also values research experience, scientific writing, independent work, and the ability to contribute to collaborative projects.

Preference is given to candidates with demonstrated experience in software development, machine learning, data science, or digital platforms, especially those currently based in Canada, the United States, or Europe. The selected student will collaborate with researchers, government agencies, and external partners and contribute to peer-reviewed publications and innovative technologies.
