Description

Eric Nost, Associate Professor of Geography at the University of Guelph, is recruiting Master's and PhD students to join funded projects starting in Fall 2026. Research areas include environmental governance, political ecology, digital conservation, environmental justice, and the use of data technologies such as sensors, algorithms, and GIS for sustainability challenges. Projects span topics like digital conservation, urban greenspaces, environmental data justice, and environmental enforcement, often involving collaboration with the Environmental Data and Governance Initiative (EDGI). Students will gain training in interviews, document analysis, surveys, statistical and spatial analysis, mapping, data visualization, and public writing.
