The University of Greenwich – School of Engineering invites applications for an exciting PhD position (Ref: FES-PhD-2425-03) focused on advancing research in ocular biomechanics and digital imaging supervised by myself and Prof. Gianluca Tozzi .
?? Project Background:
The cornea is a vital component of the human eye, providing structural support and playing a key role in its optical performance. Understanding its mechanical behaviour is critical for improving treatments for ocular diseases.
This PhD project will leverage Digital Volume Correlation (DVC), a cutting-edge imaging-based technique, to perform three-dimensional measurements of the displacement and strain fields in the cornea. The research aims to deepen our understanding of corneal biomechanics, enabling enhanced diagnostics and therapies for ocular conditions.
?? What We’re Looking For:
We seek a motivated individual with a strong academic foundation in engineering, biomechanics, or related fields, and an enthusiasm for pushing the boundaries of biomechanics research.
?? Application Details:
Location: University of Greenwich, Medway Campus, United Kingdom
Reference: FES-PhD-2425-03
