About this position

Michigan State University’s School of Packaging, part of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, is recruiting motivated Master’s and PhD students for Fall 2026. The research focuses on data-driven optimization for packaging and supply-chain systems, including mathematical optimization (LP/MIP, network/flow), hands-on modeling with Gurobi or CPLEX, and coding/data analysis using Python and R. Students will also develop professional communication skills through reports, presentations, and manuscripts. Eligible applicants should hold or be near completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain/Operations Management, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
