About this position

ImmunoPreCept, a newly established Cluster of Excellence in Berlin, is recruiting for PhD and Postdoc positions in immunology, single-cell biology, genomics, multi-omics, and precision prevention. The programme brings together Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, the Berlin Institute of Health at Charité, and partners in a highly collaborative, international research environment.

The open projects span several exciting directions, including the transition from inflamed tissue to cancer, remission and relapse in the bone marrow, innate immune reprogramming in MASLD, and EBV-driven immune dysregulation. Across these projects, researchers will work with population-scale genomics, single-cell and spatial profiling, computational modelling, machine learning, tissue imaging, and mechanistic studies in human samples and mouse models.

Funding and contract details: PhD positions are offered as E13, 65% contracts for 3 years. Postdoc positions are offered as E13, 100% contracts for 2 years. The cluster emphasizes interdisciplinary training and career development through the ImmunoPreCept Academy, supporting progression from PhD to Postdoc and beyond.

Who should apply: The call is especially suited to researchers with a computational background, including bioinformaticians, computer scientists, mathematicians, and physicists, as well as biologists with strong computational expertise. The projects also welcome candidates interested in translational immunology, systems biology, and data-driven approaches to immune homeostasis, disease interception, and precision medicine.

Location: Berlin, Germany.

Application: Applicants should use the Charité application portal and review the detailed project descriptions on the ImmunoPreCept open positions page. The post says to apply now, with about one week remaining at the time of posting.
