The position is fully funded, offering a four-year scholarship of approximately $47,000 per annum (tax-exempt, 2025 rate), plus a four-year project expense and development package of $13,000. The scholarship includes a 60-day industry engagement component and a structured professional development and training program. Tuition fees are covered, and students receive a standard PhD on completion.

Prior experience in robotics, machine learning, and research is beneficial. Desirable skills include knowledge of mechatronics design, sensor fusion, and robot vision, as well as hands-on experience with robotic platforms. Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are also desired. Only Australian or New Zealand citizens or permanent residents are eligible.
