What's required
Relevant master's degree in wireless communications and mobile networks, computer networks and distributed systems, telecommunication engineering, computer science with a networking focus, or equivalent, with a strong background in theory, ML/AI, and mathematics. The master's degree must correspond to a five-year Norwegian degree with 120 credits at master's level. Applicants must have a strong academic background, normally an average grade of B or better on NTNU's scale; candidates with weaker grades down to C may still be considered if they can document exceptional suitability through relevant work experience and/or peer-reviewed publications. A scientific proposal (max. 1000 words / 3 pages) is required. Applicants must meet admission requirements for the PhD program in Information Security and Communication Technology. Non-native English speakers who do not master a Scandinavian language must document English proficiency with TOEFL, IELTS, or CAE/CPE. Master students may apply if the degree will be completed before starting and no later than 1 August 2027.
