The Department of Architecture and Planning at NTNU has a fully funded 4-year PhD position in Bridging Adaptive Planning and Human-Centred Design for Vulnerable Contexts. What's required
Relevant Master’s degree in urban planning, industrial design or an equivalent related field; degree must correspond to a five-year Norwegian master’s with 120 credits at master’s level. Applicants must have a strong academic background with an average grade of B or better on NTNU’s scale, or equivalent if no letter grades are used. Master’s students may apply only if the degree is completed and documented before start. Admission to the faculty’s Doctoral Programme is required within three months of employment. Excellent oral and written English, and a strong project proposal with clear research questions, theoretical perspectives, gaps, and methodological design are required. Preferred experience includes urban planning/design offices or humanitarian organisations, fieldwork or study/work experience in African/Asian contexts, visualising and integrating spatial datasets, and knowledge of adaptive planning and participatory/human-centred design frameworks.
