About this position
NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) is advertising a fully funded 4-year PhD position in Bridging Adaptive Planning and Human-Centred Design for Vulnerable Contexts at the Department of Architecture and Planning, in collaboration with the Department of Design.

What's required
A relevant Master’s degree in urban planning, industrial design or an equivalent related field; the degree must correspond to a five-year Norwegian master's with 120 credits at master's level. Admission requirements for the faculty's Doctoral Programme must be met. Excellent oral and written English is required. The project proposal is assessed for quality, especially research questions, theoretical perspectives, gaps, and methodological design. Preferred experience includes work or volunteering in urban planning/design offices or humanitarian organisations, fieldwork or professional/educational experience in African or Asian contexts, skills in visualising and integrating spatial datasets, and knowledge of adaptive planning and participatory/human-centred design frameworks.
