The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) in Barcelona, Spain, is offering a full-time PhD opportunity focused on the epidemiology of wildfire smoke and its health impacts in Europe. The successful candidate will join the Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health program, working under the supervision of Professor Cathryn Tonne. The project is part of the Horizon CATALYSE initiative and the Lancet Countdown for Climate and Health, aiming to assess the health burden attributable to wildfire smoke across multiple European countries. Key responsibilities include conducting multi-country epidemiological studies, analyzing large health datasets using R, and drafting original research articles for publication.
