Strong data analysis and programming skills (GAMS, Matlab, Python, or R) and strong English communication skills are required. Knowledge of alternative transport fuels is a plus.

The position is fully funded from the start, with a fixed-term appointment of four years and the possibility to teach up to 20%, extending the position to five years. The starting salary is 35,725 SEK per month (from May 1, 2026). Doctoral studies require physical presence throughout the study period.

What's required

Applicants must have a relevant Master's degree (120 credits) or a 60-credit Master’s degree in a relevant field such as industrial ecology, energy technology, or applied mathematics, with specialization in energy systems analysis, energy modelling, or life cycle assessment. For applicants educated outside Sweden, a 4-year Bachelor’s degree is accepted. Proven experience with data analysis and programming (GAMS, Matlab, Python, or R) is required, along with strong written and verbal English skills. The ideal candidate is motivated, independent, analytically strong, interested in transport-sector transition and interdisciplinary research, and willing to develop skills in research communication and project management. Knowledge of alternative transport fuels is beneficial.
