About this position

PhD opportunity at the University of Dundee in the Faculty of Life Sciences on SRPK signalling and Alzheimer’s disease.

The project, supervised by Dr Greg Findlay and Dr Rosie Jackson, focuses on the neurological functions of the Ser-Arg Protein Kinase (SRPK) family and how dysregulated SRPK signalling contributes to Alzheimer’s disease. The research will map neuronal SRPK substrates and downstream signalling pathways using phosphoproteomic profiling, mass spectrometry, hiPSC-derived neurons, and brain tissue. The aim is to identify mechanisms by which SRPK dysregulation drives disease and to explore SRPK as a potential therapeutic target.

This is a 4-year funded PhD under the EastBio BBSRC Doctoral Landscape Award. Funding includes a stipend at the UKRI standard rate and UK-level tuition fees, with the University of Dundee covering the Home-International fee difference. The programme also includes a mandatory training programme and a 3-month placement.
