The University of Geneva is inviting applications for a PhD or postdoctoral position in bioinformatics, microbiota, metabolism, and cancer. The successful candidate will join a leading research group at the Medical Faculty, working under the supervision of Prof. Mirko Trajkovski and co-advised by Prof. Evgeny Zdobnov. The group focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying metabolic diseases, such as obesity and insulin resistance, as well as cancer. Projects utilize state-of-the-art technologies and in vivo research models, with a strong emphasis on bioinformatics analysis and human cohort studies.

Key research areas include the development of strategies for diagnostics and treatment of cancer, dyslipidemia, diabetes, and obesity. The position will involve machine learning and data analysis, particularly linking microbiome composition to disease progression. Applicants should have a strong background in bioinformatics, programming experience, and familiarity with Unix.
