About this position

The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is inviting applications for a PhD position in AI-Driven Computational & Experimental Electrochemical Direct Air Capture (e-DAC). The successful candidate will join the research group of Assistant Professor Maryam Abdinejad, working at the intersection of experimental electrochemistry and computational, AI-driven modeling. The project aims to advance redox-active molecular systems for CO2 capture from ambient air, integrating molecular modeling, data-driven design, and electrochemical testing in flow systems.

Key research areas include electrochemistry, direct air capture, computational chemistry, and artificial intelligence applications in molecular design. The ideal candidate will possess strong computational skills, particularly in Python, modeling, and data analysis, and have a solid understanding of electrochemistry or molecular chemistry. The position is suited for highly motivated individuals eager to work across both experimental and computational domains.

Applicants are expected to have a relevant background in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related fields. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in sustainable CO2 capture technologies, with a focus on both theoretical and practical aspects of electrochemical systems.

Applications must be submitted exclusively through the official DTU website. The deadline for applications is 13 March 2026. Due to the high volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and inquiries via LinkedIn or email will not be answered.
