About this position

KTH Royal Institute of Technology is advertising a PhD position in biomedical micro- and nanosystems within the research subject Micro and Nanosystems. The project is based at KTH’s Division of Micro and Nanosystems in Stockholm, Sweden, and is focused on cutting-edge research in medical MEMS (micro-electromechanical systems).

The doctoral project aims to develop the next generation of minimally invasive sampling systems for neurobiomarkers. The work includes building the technical platform and evaluating it in relevant in vitro and in vivo models. Research challenges span biomechanics, miniaturization, and microfabrication, and the project is described as application-oriented with a focus on real-world medical problems.

The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary research group and work in an innovative environment in collaboration with medical experts at Karolinska Institutet and SciLifeLab. The project combines both theoretical and experimental work and involves collaboration across scientific disciplines.

Supervisor: Professor Niclas Roxhed is proposed as supervisor, with the final decision made at admission.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the general doctoral admission requirements in Sweden, including an advanced degree or equivalent credits.
