About this position

The University of Amsterdam is inviting applications for a fully funded PhD position in the field of Developmental, Stem Cell, and Cancer Biology. The successful candidate will join the research group led by Professor Renée van Amerongen, focusing on a KWF-funded project titled "Targeting WNT/CTNNB1 signaling in breast cancer." This project aims to advance our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying breast cancer, with a particular emphasis on WNT signaling pathways and their role in tumorigenesis.

The research will involve a combination of developmental biology, stem cell biology, and cancer biology approaches, utilizing molecular and cell biology techniques. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment at the University of Amsterdam, a leading institution in the Netherlands. The successful applicant will benefit from access to state-of-the-art facilities and the chance to contribute to impactful cancer research.

Applicants should have a strong background in biology or a related discipline, with demonstrated interest or experience in developmental, stem cell, or cancer biology. Experience with molecular and cell biology methods is highly desirable. The position is fully funded by the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF), covering salary and research expenses. For more information and to apply, candidates must use the official University of Amsterdam application portal. Only applications submitted through the system will be considered.
