About this position

The CiucciLab at the Bavarian Center for Battery Technology (BayBatt), University of Bayreuth, is seeking a highly motivated PhD student for a project focused on first-principles modeling and AI-based simulations of protonic ceramic cells. This research is at the intersection of materials science, chemistry, physics, and computer science, targeting next-generation clean energy technologies such as solid-state energy and green hydrogen. The lab specializes in electrode design for electrochemical energy systems, with a strong emphasis on innovative materials and device development using density functional theory (DFT) and advanced computational methods.
