About this position
CNRS is advertising a PhD-level opening based at IRCELYON (Institut de Recherches sur la Catalyse et l'Environnement de Lyon) in Villeurbanne, France. The project is part of the ECOCHEM mission within PEPR SPLEEN and focuses on understanding the parameters that optimize the photocatalytic response under pressure and temperature.
The work combines chemistry, materials science, catalysis, and environmental science. Main tasks include oxide photocatalyst synthesis via sol-gel, hydrothermal, or solvothermal routes; characterization using BET, XRD, FTIR, UV-vis, Raman; photocatalytic testing under pressure and temperature; chromatographic analyses; and reporting results within the ECOCHEM consortium.
The laboratory is a joint research unit between CNRS and the University of Lyon, and is described as one of the largest catalysis laboratories in France and Europe. The position is in a sector subject to PPST protection, so arrival requires authorization from the competent authority of the MESR.
Eligibility highlights: PhD candidate profile in chemistry/inorganic chemistry/process chemistry/environment; strong knowledge of materials synthesis and photocatalysis; preferred experience with sol-gel and hydrothermal synthesis, gas and liquid chromatography, and photocatalytic testing; ability to interpret chromatographic data; scientific writing and communication in French and English.
Deadline: 5 November 2026, 23:59 UTC.
How to apply: Submit an application through the CNRS job portal using the official posting link. A Euraxess mirror is also provided in the post.
