Master’s degree or equivalent in physics or nuclear technology, with specialization in nuclear physics or reactor physics. Foreign completed degree must correspond to at least four years in the Norwegian educational system. Strong background in scientific computing, for example Python, is required. Good oral and written English is required, and applicants from outside the EU/EEA must meet the English requirements/exemptions. Candidates without a master’s degree may complete the final exam by 1 October 2026. Preferred qualifications include experience with reactor simulations (e.g. OpenMC or system codes such as RE-LAP), data analysis techniques, machine learning, ROOT, reactor physics and nuclear structure coursework, and teaching experience.
