About this position

Postdoctoral Fellow positions are available in Educational Measurement at the Centre for Research on Equality in Education (CREATE), Faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Oslo, with a double affiliation to the Centre for Educational Measurement (CEMO).

The project is part of CREATE’s research strand on addressing key methodological challenges and focuses on advanced methodological and psychometric research. Possible topics include instructional sensitivity and opportunity to learn in international large-scale assessments, weighted generalized structural equation models with mixed continuous and discrete data in longitudinal settings, and research synthesis/meta-analysis to study digital inequalities in education.

This is a full-time postdoctoral opening for 3 years, with a possible extension to 4 years if there is a good match with teaching needs. The role includes required duties (10% or 25%), typically teaching and supervision in CEMO’s master’s programme in Assessment, Measurement and Evaluation. Salary is NOK 595,000–670,000 per year depending on qualifications.

Preferred experience includes IRT, mixed-effects logistic regression, latent variable models, Monte Carlo simulation, meta-analysis, and international large-scale assessment data.

How to apply: submit a cover letter, CV, proof of PhD completion or thesis submission, thesis copy, transcripts, publication list, and 2–3 references through Jobbnorge. Incomplete applications will not be assessed. Deadline: 2026-12-04.
