About this position
The Memory and Perception Laboratory at the Jefferson Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute (JMRRI) is seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to join a project in cognitive neuroscience focused on the functional organization of human cortex.
Working under the direction of Andrew Persichetti at Thomas Jefferson University, the fellow will use high-resolution 7T imaging and layer-fMRI approaches to study how feedforward and feedback information can be dissociated across cortical layers. The core scientific emphasis is on regions involved in high-level vision and semantic memory.
The lab offers a research environment that combines advanced human neuroimaging with complementary methods including behavioral experiments, eyetracking, TMS, and conventional BOLD fMRI. The postdoc will have the opportunity to contribute to these ongoing lines of work and develop an independent research program within a strong postdoctoral training setting.
JMRRI is described as internationally known for neuroscience and neurorehabilitation research, providing a setting for work at the interface of basic cognitive neuroscience and applied brain research.
Funding details
1-2 fully funded years with competitive salary and benefits.
What's required
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or anticipate a Ph.D. by Fall 2026 and have a strong track record using fMRI to answer questions related to cognitive neuroscience. A background in MR physics is also desirable.
