About this position

Postdoctoral position in global detection techniques for radicals in air at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden.

The Nozière group at the Department of Chemistry is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to develop and apply global detection techniques for oxygenated organic radicals in ambient air and other complex systems. The project combines atmospheric chemistry, gas-phase kinetics, experimental chemistry, and instrument development, with work spanning laboratory studies and measurements in ambient air.

The successful candidate will operate and troubleshoot existing techniques such as chemical amplification, while also developing and characterizing new detection methods. This is a research-focused postdoctoral appointment intended as a first career step after the PhD.

Eligibility highlights: a doctoral degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Physics, or a related field; documented experimental experience with gas flow systems; experience in instrument development or troubleshooting; excellent English communication skills; strong problem-solving ability; and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively. Recent PhD graduates are preferred, and knowledge of atmospheric chemistry or gas-phase kinetics is an advantage.

Funding and employment: temporary full-time position for up to two years, with monthly salary. No scholarship or tuition waiver is mentioned.

How to apply: submit the application through KTH's recruitment system. Include a CV, PhD diploma or equivalent, publication list, and a brief cover letter. Ask three referees to send reference letters directly to Prof. Barbara Noziere. Deadline: 2026-09-01.

Funding details

Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.
