About this position

Postdoctoral researcher opportunity at the University of Luxembourg, within the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) and the Signal Processing and Communications (SIGCOM) research group.

The project focuses on 5G/6G Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), satellite communications, positioning, navigation and timing (PNT), and signal processing. Research topics include LEO satellite systems, receiver design, synchronization, acquisition and tracking, ToA/TDoA/Doppler-based positioning, hybrid GNSS/NTN positioning, resilient PNT, and MATLAB-based physical-layer simulation and validation.

The role includes developing and testing algorithms, working with simulated signals and possibly real RF/IQ measurements and SDR platforms, contributing to national/European/industry-funded projects, publishing research, supervising students, and helping prepare future proposals.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Signal Processing, Satellite Communications, Navigation/Positioning, or a closely related field. Strong MATLAB and digital signal processing skills are required; experience with GNSS, 5G NR, 3GPP NTN, SDR, Python, C/C++, and experimental validation is advantageous. Excellent English is required; French, German, or Luxembourgish is a plus.

The position is full-time, fixed-term for 24 months, based at Kirchberg Campus, Luxembourg. The stated gross annual salary is EUR 87,306.

Applications are reviewed on receipt. Apply online via the HR system with CV, cover letter, PhD diploma or expected defense date, transcript, publication list, and two referees. Email applications will not be considered.
