About this position
Aarhus University is advertising a Postdoc in cardiorenal metabolism at the Department of Biomedicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, in Aarhus, Denmark.
The project focuses on metabolism, physiology, mouse models, metabolomics, proteomics, and chemical biology to study metabolic organ communication in a cardiorenal-metabolic setting. The successful candidate will lead independent research, perform in vivo experiments in mouse models of metabolic and cardiovascular disease, carry out phenotyping (including glucose and lipid metabolism, energy expenditure, and histopathology), and use mass spectrometry-based approaches to identify metabolic pathways and targets.
The role also includes data analysis and integration using R and/or Python, statistical analysis, visualization, and multi-omics handling in collaboration with the team. The postdoc will work with an interdisciplinary group and may have teaching or supervision responsibilities.
Eligibility highlights: a PhD is required, with academic background in metabolism, physiology, molecular biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, or a related area. Experience with rodent disease models and/or mass spectrometry is strongly encouraged. Hands-on mouse work, willingness to learn advanced MS or microphysiological methods, coding skills, publication record, and fluent English are emphasized.
Funding/employment: full-time fixed-term postdoc for 2 years. Salary follows Danish academic agreements; the page lists a yearly base salary range of DKK 493,394.35 to DKK 585,322.48 plus pension and possible supplements.
